The ArtXpress program for teens, is a summer studio-based internship program with the end goal of creating a mural that positively addresses a social justice issue in the city of Milwaukee. This set of teen interns interacted with the 30 Americans show, drawing from works of Nick Cave, Kehinde Wiley, Lorna Simpson and Kara Walker among others for inspiration. The interns also had the chance to discuss works from the show with 30 Americans artist Nina Chanel Abney. RedLine Milwaukee partners with the Milwaukee Art Museum for this program. When completed, the mural was displayed on a Milwaukee County Bus, traveling on its route for the following nine months.

RedLine Artist: John Kowalczyk
